Nantes is a city in Western France about 31 miles from the French Atlantic Coast. It is located along the banks of Loire River and is the 6th largest city in France. 1. Machines of the Isle of Nantes

This is a touristic and cultural invention in Nantes that has awed many a visitor at the attention to detail of its designers. The machines try to depict Nantes as a 'creative metropolis of dream and of fantasy.' The three great machines include the Great Elephant that was built in 2007, the Marine Worlds Carrousel that was built in 2012 and the Heron Tree, which is set to be completed in 2014.
