Discover the Spirit of Laos
The journey begins in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city where Buddhist traditions, French-colonial architecture and the rhythms of daily life come together along the Mekong River.
Staying at the elegant Satri House, the group will explore the city's temples and markets, experience a private blessing at Wat Sene and take a boat journey along the Mekong to the sacred Pak Ou Caves. There may also be an opportunity to visit the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls.
A visit to Big Brother Mouse, a local educational initiative that helps children develop their reading skills, offers another perspective on community life in Laos.
Alongside these cultural experiences, daily Qi Gong, meditation, and guided teachings create space to pause, reflect, and absorb the journey at a more personal pace.
Explore the Extraordinary Temples of Cambodia
From Laos, the journey continues to Siem Reap, home to the extraordinary temples of Angkor.
With Maison Polanka reserved exclusively for the group, the experience offers a welcoming retreat after days spent exploring Cambodia's remarkable heritage. Highlights include the magnificent Angkor Wat, a sunrise experience at Sras Srang and visits to the ancient temple complex.
The cultural discoveries continue with a Cambodian cooking class, a visit to the Royal Academy of Performing Arts to learn about Apsara dance, and an evening at Phare Circus, whose performances help support young people and vulnerable communities.
These encounters offer more than sightseeing. They provide opportunities to appreciate the traditions, creativity and people that give Cambodia its distinctive character.
A Journey with Room to Reflect
What makes this experience different is the balance between exploration and personal well-being.
Susan Drury will guide the retreat program, incorporating daily practices, teachings, discussion, and opportunities for individual reflection. Participants will also have access to a private one-to-one session with Susan, as well as two Zoom sessions before departure to help prepare for the experience.
The itinerary allows for unhurried afternoons and time to enjoy the surroundings, making this a journey that combines cultural discovery with a more mindful approach to travel.
The itinerary includes selected excursions, guides and transfers, breakfasts, and dinners, two special lunches, and the flight from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap. International flights, visas, travel insurance, and optional activities are not included.
