Uruguay

Uruguay is a country in the southeastern region of South America. It is the second-smallest country in South America (after Suriname). The name Uruguay means river of the colorful birds. It is a word in Guarani that was spoken by the natives of the area. Uruguay is best known for its verdant interior and beach-lined coast. Its vibrant capital, Montevideo, is a handsome place of stunning architecture, breezy promenades and sandy beaches. It’s also home to the world’s longest carnival, a heady six-week street party that puts other South American cities to shame.
