Vancouver luckily has a direct flight to Brisbane from Vancouver, BC - making travel from Western Canada easily accessible.

Brisbane is a destination that is sure to have something for everyone - here is a great collection of just some of the things that you can do in and around this vibrant Australian city:

Cuddle Koalas at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the world's first and largest koala sanctuary, with over 85 years of experience and 130 koalas. In 2015 Lone Pine was inducted into the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame for five consecutive years of excellence. Interact with 100 species of Australian animals, with hands-on experiences and presentations. Hand-feed kangaroos and wild lorikeets, or get cuddly with a beautiful koala. If you have always wanted to get up close to these cuddly creatures then Lone Pine is a must visit spot! You can even make a full-day adventure of it and combine your visit with a Brisbane River cruise that will teach you the history of the city while taking in the sites.

Enjoy the South Bank Parklands

South Bank is Brisbane’s premier lifestyle and cultural destination. Located on the southern banks of the Brisbane River, its 17 hectares of lush parklands and Australia's only inner-city, man-made beach makes South Bank Parklands the perfect place for a dip in the pool, stroll in the park or a barbecue with friends. Make sure you visit the Epicurious Garden, which grows organic seasonal produce all year round.

Get your slice of arts and entertainment by visiting Brisbane’s major attractions at the Cultural Centre. Located at the northern end of the parklands, this riverside hub includes the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), Queensland Performing Arts Centre, State Library of Queensland, and the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre. The restaurants here are some of the best the city has to offer and with a movie theatre located in the heart of the area, it makes for the perfect date night location!

Take a Day Trip to the Gold Coast Theme Parks

There's no comparison to the Gold Coast's choice of attractions and experiences. With multiple theme parks offering a terrific combo of adrenaline pumping thrills, heart-warming encounters and non-stop action; nowhere in Australia delivers as many smiles and happy memories as the Gold Coast. Family favourites such as Dreamworld, Wet'N'Wild and WhiteWater World are sure to please. Warner Bros Movie World and the Australian Outback Spectacular provide their own unique attractions, while Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Sea World create a never ending interactive experience with nature's creatures great and small! Most of the amusement parks offer combo tickets which make it easier to see more than one park!

Attend a Sports Match or Participate in your own Sporting Adventure

Australia loves their sports. From home-grown rugby league clashes, to cricket at the famous Gabba grounds or the action of the Brisbane International tennis. For a unique Aussie experience check out an Aussie Rules Football game and cheer on the Brisbane Lions! If you’d rather play sport than watch it, head to Kangaroo Point and hold your breath as you abseil 20m down the 20-million-year-old cliffs in just 20 seconds, or rock climb your way to the top. See Brisbane from a kayak as you paddle your way around every bend of the river, or see it from above on the Story Bridge Adventure Climb. Walk, run, cycle or rollerblade along more than 20km of the Riverwalk.

Visit the Dolphins on Moreton Island

Just 25km off Brisbane’s shore is the third largest sand island in the world. Crystal-clear lakes and lagoons exist among tall sand dunes, abundant wildflowers and pristine beaches. Hand feed wild dolphins, and dive or snorkel among mysterious wrecks and pristine waters, or watch silhouettes of fishermen casting their lines in lingering twilight. The adventurous can try quad biking, four-wheel-driving or sand tobogganing. Chances are you'll want to extend your stay at Tangalooma Resort!
