STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS
Travel documents including passports, visas and health/vaccination certificates required are your responsibility. Valid passports are required for all international destinations and the expiration date should be at least 6 months following the return of your trip. Some countries require that your passport have two to four blank visa/stamp pages. Some airlines will not allow you to board if these requirements are not met. When travelling it is recommended that everyone carry at least two forms of acceptable identification in order to board a flight. For example, driver’s license, CAD passport or a foreign government passport. The name, date of birth and gender that appears on the identification documents must exactly match the same data that is listed on airline ticket(s) and booking records.. North South Travel will do its best to inform travellers of general requirements, but we ask that you contact the appropriate embassy(ies)/consulate(s) in your country of residence. North South Travel is not responsible for delays, changes or costs of any kind due to incomplete, expired or inaccurate traveller documentation. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid passport and meet all necessary entry requirements of the country or countries you will be visiting. These requirements vary by country and nationality and can change from time to time
Health - It is your responsibility to ensure that you have received all appropriate vaccinations. Please consult your doctor before travelling and take all necessary precautions. If you have any health concerns that may affect your trip, we do suggest you advise your advisor when discussing your trip. Additionally, a visa and vaccinations certificate may be required. Required or advised inoculations you decide to obtain upon the advice of your personal physician may need to be administered in a series of doses months ahead of your planned departure and such time element should be taken into account by you when making deposits and/or nonrefundable final payments. Please note that, even when a visa is issued, a traveller may be denied entry since each country’s local immigration officials make the final entry decision. Several factors including past criminal record may contribute to the decision of the local immigration official(s).Should a visa not be issued or entry to a country be denied, North South Travel is not responsible for lost payments made towards the contemplated trip.
If you have been arrested or convicted of an offence you should always check with the immigration or border services of the country(ies) you plan to visit to ensure that you will be allowed entry. North South Travel feels that it is an invasion of privacy to make such an inquiry of you. The final decision on whether you would be allowed to travel rests with the immigration and border officials of the country(ies) to which you hope to travel and it is your responsibility to make those inquiries.
Travel Insurance - We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance. North South Travel is an authorized retailer of travel insurance products. We will be able to provide you with a custom quote upon request. If you chose not to purchase our insurance, you may be asked to sign a liability waiver.
North South Travel offers retail travel services to customers which are provided by separate and independent vendors of travel services ("Suppliers"). North South travel and your travel advisor do not operate, control or otherwise provide the services of the independent Supplier. Hence, you agree that North South Travel and your travel advisor act only as agent for you in acquiring air, sea and/or land transportation, hotel accommodations, sightseeing and other privileges or services for your benefit.
North South Travel and your travel advisor's compensation is derived from trip planning fees and commissions paid by Suppliers. The trip planning fee compensates us for the time and research involved in the planning process. This fee may include destination advice; a complete and customized itinerary; recommending and reserving accommodations; booking private tours, guides and classes; sightseeing suggestions; arranging car rental and private transfers; and preparation of vouchers and documentation. You acknowledge and accept that trip planning fees are non-refundable under any circumstances while Supplier commissions are subject to Supplier terms and conditions.
North South Travel assumes no responsibility for and shall not be liable for any refund, personal injury, property damage or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity which may be caused by: (1) any defaults, wrongful or negligent acts, or omissions of the Suppliers; (2) any defect in or failure of any vehicle, craft, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used or provided by the Supplier(s); (3) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any other party not under North South Travel's direct control; and (4) any Supplier price drop after your travel arrangements have been confirmed, paid in full or ticketed. You hereby release North South Travel and your travel advisor from all claims arising out of any issue covered in this paragraph.
Suppliers have their own contracts covering cancellation penalties and other terms and conditions, and you may be bound by those contracts regardless of whether you receive notice of their terms. By proceeding with a booking with North South Travel you are consenting to those terms and conditions. You also understand that Supplier terms and conditions including, without limitation, cancellation and refund policy, payment terms are subject to change without notice.
The services provided by independent Suppliers are subject to the laws of the place where the services are provided, and any conditions imposed by those Suppliers. The liability of the independent Suppliers may be limited by their tariffs, conditions of carriage, tickets and vouchers, and international conventions and agreements.
North South Travel and your travel advisor have no specific knowledge regarding the financial condition of the Supplier(s), unsafe conditions, health hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which you may travel. It is recommended that you check several resources available to you to make an educated decision.
Limitation of Liability for Air Transport: In addition to the limitations of liability set forth above, you agree that North South Travel and your travel advisor are not liable for any damages arising from or related to airline timetable changes, delays, cancellations, missed connections, mechanical problems, inclement weather, seating reassignments, lost/delayed baggage, screening and security delays, refused boarding or failure to check in properly.
Pricing & Payment . Availability and price quotes are applicable to the date and time at which they are requested and cannot be guaranteed until payment is made.
Quotes in a foreign currency fluctuate with exchange rates and international payments may carry a foreign transaction fee.
North South Travel will make every effort to honour the price as originally quoted, however, under certain circumstances additional costs by a supplier or government may be imposed due to an increase in the cost for one or more of the travel components.
Unforeseeable Changes to Your Trip - It is sometimes necessary (or recommended) that changes be made to your itinerary after it has been confirmed. This is most common when a third party (i.e. airline, hotel) makes changes that are beyond our control, such as a flight cancellation or schedule change. In other instances, changes may be necessary due to extreme weather or events in the region. We will always do our best to rework the itinerary in a way that minimizes changes to the flow and pricing of your trip. However, if the itinerary changes require us to re-price your trip you will be responsible for the difference in cost.
Risks—Travel involves risks. Trips off the beaten path and in developing countries can involve transportation, communication and healthcare standards that are different from what you get at home. Medical facilities and services may not be readily accessible and may not be sophisticated.
In addition and without limitation, North South Travel is not responsible for any injury, loss, death, or damage to property in connection with the provision of any goods or services whether resulting from, without limitation, to acts of God or force majeure, weather, quarantines, illness, disease, acts of war, civil unrest, insurrection/revolt, animals, labor unrest including strikes, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of services, food poisoning, mechanical or other failure of means of transportation or travel delays, travel advisories or warnings.
