Sand Duning in Huacachina, Peru!

Posted by Liz · Feb 25 · in Peru · about Adventure

Did you know that Peru has some of the world's largest Sand Dunes. Located in the Ica district, Huacachina is a great place to have the thrill of a lifetime as you race around in sand dune buggys or chill out and watch the stunning sunset...

Kemi - Our Director of Sales- shares her experiences in Huacachina from her visit in 2012!

"We signed up for the sunset sandbuggy and sandboarding trip- it was absolutely amazing! I felt like we were in a scene from Aladdin; the sky was sensational, the sand dunes were perfectly shaped and we had the front two seats and a crazy driver and it was exhilarating zooming over the dunes. We also got to sandboard down about 6 or 7 dunes- definitely not for the faint hearted or those with fear of heights- and I say board, but most of us tried to stand up but we went down on our behinds. They told everyone to actually go down on your stomachs as it was more fun. The last 3 dunes were so steep that no one was actually allowed to stand up anyway. It was such an amazing experience- we could have done it all day long. The sun was setting, the colours were incredible and it was definitely one of my most unique travel experiences so far!"
