Clayoquot Wilderness Resort

One of the most stunning resorts in Canada and one of our absolute favourite in BC is the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort: a small, privately-owned + operated Relais & Chateaux eco-safari-style resort Outpost, open seasonally to guests from all over the world, from mid May through until the end of September.

They are a true resort destination, offering adventures and activities unlike any other on the pacific northwest. They work closely with the Ahousaht First Nation, which provides unprecedented, sustainable access to the UNESCO-designated Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve.

With just 25 guest tents and plenty of staff, including wilderness guides and food and beverage artisans, guests of Clayoquot Wilderness Resort receive respectfully intimate attention from the moment they arrive via floatplane until they wave goodbye from the horse-drawn wagon carrying them back to the dock.

As we are part of the Virtuoso Network, we're able to secure you exclusive benefits and perks if you book your stay at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort with us at North South Travel:

Luxury tenting best defines the 25 great white canvas prospector-style residences, artfully arranged along the water's edge and on the hillside overlooking the estuary. Guests may choose between the ensuite tents, which offer a more contemporary interpretation of turn-of-the-century accommodation, deluxe tents which offer a more authentically traditional style of great camp luxury, and deluxe family tents which offer a bit of both.

The log Cookhouse features two dining tents, a games tent, activity and billiards tents, and a beautiful new glass waterfront lounge, making it a hub of gentle activity all day long. A vast double-sided dry-stack fireplace is the heart of two signature outdoor lounges, where overstuffed couches and deliciously deep arm chairs are at the centre of countless new friendships and post-activity tales of adventure.

The Healing Grounds Spa promises sanctuary, yoga, wellness, and restorative treatments for body and soul - both at the waterfront spa grounds, and remotely, in perfect, quiet isolation.

Cuisine is fine, storied and comforting - rooted in sustainable, locally grown, foraged and harvested ingredients. A traditional slow-oven and period-inspired gastro-adventures complement a celebrated contemporary coastal menu of seasonal dishes, prepared and presented by a team of highly-skilled, critically-acclaimed chefs.

Adventure unfolds at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, with an impressive menu of equestrian, marine, hiking, + fishing activities are offered daily - each outing custom-built to suit age, skill-level and expectation. Choose from a menu of half-day and full-day activities and/or combine these with camp-based activities, for a truly custom program of adventure that unfolds at the pace and excitement level of your choosing. An on-site JetRange helicopter promises a la carte adventure above and beyond.

Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is surrounded by pristine Crown Land and the Strathcona Provincial Park, in the bio-diverse Bedwell estuary, with over 600 acres of lush and beautiful river valleys.
